The Tower’s Bid (from The Songs Of The Erinnyes, Sonnets, Odes, and Elegies by Jay Noya, Brigantium Press)
The line
Bequeaths a world
Of stains rid
Oh unchanging tenderness
Oh long sword
Split and pierce
Rent asunder
Here’s chaos proclaimed
There the wreckage heaped
Here the star
End to end and distance to distance
To ends and distances farther still
Upon this line journeys purity
And unaltered the atmosphere remains
And measurements are established
The angle’s wall
Is to be defended
While the air tumbles
And darts past this tower
Unspoiled by the general geometry
